Back Of Book Blurb

As a vampire hunter and skinwalker, Jane Yellowrock is public enemy number one in the vampire community--even though she's also the key to their survival. Now she's about to learn that working for the enemy can be just as dangerous as hunting them.

The vampire council has hired skinwalker Jane Yellowrock to hunt and kill one of their own who has broken sacred ancient rules-but Jane quickly realizes that in a community that is thousands of years old, loyalties run deep.

With the help of her witch best friend and local vigalantes, Jane finds herself caught between bitter rivalries-- and closer than ever to the secret origin of the entire vampire race. But in a city of old grudges and dark magic, Jane will have to fight to protect both sides even if no one will protect her.

To start let me say that I thoroughly enjoyed the setting for this book. Faith is still in New Orleans ,in the midst of another hurricane, albeit less dangerous than Katrina and Rita. Setting has started being a big thing for me and is a big plus when the author is able to capture the essence of a place in their story.

I enjoyed seeing a softer side of Jane. I think having Molly and the kids staying with her mellowed her as well as Beast . Although this is a softer Jane she shows that you should never judge a book by its cover because when you least expect it said book will knock you upside your head.

Jane has to find out who is breaking vamp law and making new vamps without keeping them locked up for the requisite amount of years. As always this leads to more than she bargained for and she has to find help fast. It was interesting to see how Jane relates to Aggie and her mother. She learns things about herself and I think this will make her stronger in the end. While staying in New Orleans Jane has a difficult road ahead with Leo after the death of who he thought was his son at the hands of Jane.

There was a lot going on in Blood Cross, but I really believe that this helped more than hindered the story. I was not bored for 1 second while reading and I sincerly hope that there will be more stories of Jane Yellowrock to come.
