TBR Mayhem

I have a few questions for my readers as well as a contest.

How do you decide what book you want to read next?

Do you read more than one book at a time or is that just crazy?

Who are your favorite authors that you would reccommend to others?

What do you like to read in a review? Do you like it to be really in depth or straight to the point?

What do you think of short and sweet reviews?

I have no idea what I will be giving away, that will be decided later. Know that it will be a book and probably whatever else I decide to throw in. Make some suggestions of what you'd like to win in this contest. Look for more chances to win in the coming weeks when I will be posting some reviews that I am working on.

Secret Giveaway - Do you know the word?

In my opening post on the 1st October I mentioned an extra surprise giveaway. This was in the form of a scavenger hunt. All you had to do was keep a look out for letters in some of my posts that were enlarged and highlighted (bold). These letters would eventually make up a Halloween theme word. If you know this word then let me know by leaving a comment. I will then pick a winner.

This is again open WORLDWIDE (aren't I generous!) and will end tomorrow at 12pm GMT. The winner will be announced tomorrow and will get to know their secret prize!

New Contest

This new contest is brought to you by a site just bursting wth awesomeness and the always fabulous Ivy.

The contest is open to everyone, you must provide a way for me to contact you. For as many entries as you like I want you to think of some cool questions I can ask authors. I am going to start doing some author interviews so let me know what questions you would want your favorite author to answer for you. I need questions with substance people, not just yes or no answers. Each question is worth 1 point, if at all possible put all questions in one post and number them please. I will use random.org to pick the winner. Now for your choices, you may choose
Covet by JR Ward or On The Edge by Ilona Andrews.

Random Musings from the Mind of a Maniac (2)

As we get closer to BBAW- September 14- 18. I have been thinking about the different blogs that are out there and thanks to some of my blogger friends on Twitter who got me thinking. I need to acknowledge them more often. I read lots of blogs but I don’t think I actively post on them as much as I should. I, like many other people see cool contests so I do enter those but when I read a post that I feel I may not have anything new to say that adds or enhances to the conversation I don’t say anything. Well, I make my pledge this week to stop that, I think that we all need a little encouragement once in a while so let's encourage each other. For this week's contest, I will be giving out 4 books and a blank journal that I have sitting on my shelves at this minute. I have been catching up on my review reading so I haven’t posted as much as I would like, but I will try to find at least 2 non contest posts a day to comment on.

What do you have to do to be a winner you ask? I want you to introduce me to some of your favorite blogs. New or old, show me what you like and tell me why you like them. You need to post your email address, what site you like and why and tell me what you’d like to see from me in the future.

Won’t you join me and do the same?

Books to be given away-

The Devil’s Queen by Jeanne Kalogridis – (never read, needs loving home)

Naamah’s Kiss by Jacqueline Carey- (I haven’t read this series and I feel bad with this beautiful hardcover sitting on my shelf looking unloved.)

Strange Angel’s by Lili St. Crow- (Loved this book, am looking forward to the next one)

Night World (#3) by L.J. Smith –( bought 2 copies of this without even realizing it , so my overbuying is your good fortune)

And a Hardcover Blank Journal ( its green sorry I don't have a pic of it)
