Mercy Thompson #5
When mechanic and shapeshifter Mercy Thompson attempts to return a powerful Fae book she'd previously borrowed in an act of desperation, she finds the bookstore locked up and closed down.
It seems the book contains secret knowledge-and the Fae will do just about anything to keep it out of the wrong hands. And if that doesn't take enough of Mercy's attention, her friend Samuel is struggling with his wolf side-leaving Mercy to cover for him, lest his own father declare Sam's life forfeit.
All in all, Mercy has had better days. And if she isn't careful, she might not have many more to live...
Plot - Like all of the Mercy Thompson novels the storyline is great. For me it was an edge of your seat kind of story.
Characters - I like most of the characters in this story and felt myself liking some more than I thought I would. For example, I think after reading this story I like Ben a little more than I did before, he's growing on me.
Story - Fast paced story with many different things going on all at once. There is a Fae plotline, A love plotline ( Mercy and Adam) and then there is the Samuel plotline. Now with so much going on you would think that the story would suffer but I honestly think this makes the story better. It was a very interesting book that I would call my favorite in the series so far. Loved seeing a different side of Mercy that we only glimpsed before.
I rate this book-SUPERSTAR

Just ignore me, I'm on a roll today. LOL.
Great review, btw.
Dawn,
Thank you for the comment. I really love the Mercy Thompson series as well, its one of my favorites. Yes it is out and believe me if I could get an ARC of this series I would do just about anything. I am glad you liked the review, I am trying to do my reviews a different way and see if people like them better.
I really liked the Samuel and Mercy/Adam plotlines, but I wasn't crazy about all the Fae stuff. Like you said, she juggles all the stories well and I was on the edge of my seat too. Can't wait for the next one!
